Wookies

The ghillie suit is a form of camouflage that you wear on top of your gear and is meant to resemble your surroundings. This are mostly used by snipers to help them remain unnoticed. A sniper will want to thread in local vegetation into his suit to give it an authentic look and to ensure his safety.

  1. This camo is really cool. It definitely looks like it could hide anybody with its surroundings. I think a really cool idea would be to have a suit that uses the same idea as a chamealon(sp). The way they can blend into their surroundings no matter what the color. If we could invent that technology... Wow

  2. That technology has already existed for several years, its called Retro-reflective Projection Technology.

Look forward to a more detailed description of the technology in one of my future blog posts.

  3. This camouflage looks interesting but I would have thought that with today’s advancements in technology there would be something sleeker or more interesting as to how a sniper might protect themselves against being spotted.

  4. It is interesting to see human beings using the way of nature for a change. Snipers are trying to hide into the nature to do their job and not getting hurt. I always exited to see how animals do this rather than human beings. At least the animals have a reason to emerge into the nature; protection and hunting. Lately I visited and aquarium in NJ and I was amazed to see fishes that look like rocks and lay near rocks in a way that is hard to tell them apart.
